Good Neighbors Make Good Guests

FAQs & house policies

What are check-in and checkout times?

Check-in is at 4:00 PM and checkout is at 10:00 AM. Both doors have keypad entry, so arrival is easy even after dark. Your personal entry code and full arrival details are sent before your stay.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! We are proudly dog friendly. Up to 2 dogs are welcome, with a pet fee per pet. We just ask that you keep pups off the beds, clean up the yard, and never leave them home alone uncrated.

How many people can stay?

The cottage sleeps 8 across 3 bedrooms, with futons in both the Bluebird Room and the Green Room. We keep the maximum occupancy at 8 so the home stays comfortable for everyone (and stays standing for the next family).

Are there quiet hours?

Yes, quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. We are in a peaceful spot on Route 100 with wonderful neighbors, and we like to keep it that way. Firepit conversations are fine; parties and events are not permitted.

Is there anything to know about wildlife?

You are in the Green Mountains, so yes, and it is mostly delightful. We do have black bears in the area, so all trash goes in the basement (never outside) and recycling is separated. Full instructions are in the house guide.

Are there security cameras?

There are 3 exterior cameras covering the outside of the home for security. There are no cameras inside the cottage, ever.

Is there WiFi and cell service?

Yes, the cottage has fast WiFi, and the network details are waiting for you in the house guide when you arrive. Cell coverage in the mountains can be spotty depending on your carrier, which we consider a feature.

What is provided for our stay?

Fresh linens and towels for every bed and bath, a stocked kitchen for cooking, coffee essentials, a washer and dryer with laundry soap, a boot dryer for ski days, and a house guide covering everything from the grill to the game closet.

Do I need a car?

Yes. West Wardsboro is a rural mountain village and the whole point is exploring Route 100, the mountains, and the villages around us. There is free parking on site. In winter, snow tires or all-wheel drive are strongly recommended.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy is shown at checkout before you confirm your booking, so you will always see the exact terms for your dates. If your plans change, email us and we will do our best to work with you.

Why should I book direct instead of through a platform?

Booking direct gets you the best available rate with no platform service fees, and you communicate directly with our family before, during, and after your stay. Payment is processed securely through Stripe, and the calendar stays perfectly in sync with our other channels.
